The company has a recognizable brand name through its network of stores. The company had about 1,790 stores in the United States as of January 2015, and continues to gain market shares in the competitive retail business (â€Å"Global Market Direct SWOT Report†, 2015). One of Target’s strengths is its nationally recognized name â€Å"Target† and red-colored theme. Target’s brand recognition is wrapped around the provision of exclusive merchandise that targets all age ranges and different income levels. The company attracts millennials through various private labels in its clothing section, and sells merchandise under exclusive brand labels in its kitchen, home and shoe section. Categorization of store products also distinguishes Target from other major competitors like Walmart, and this strategic strength attracts shoppers that prefer specific product listing either b y category, or by brand. Business analytics plays a major in sourcing new customers in emerging markets.
